Wago I/O Modules
Wago provides stackable Input/Output modules for the 750-series bus couplers. These I/O modules are interchangeable between bus couplers in the 750-series product range; Modbus, CAN, PFC 200 and more. For more information about the details of each specific Wago I/O module, please consult the Wago website, and do a search for the specific module.
Wago 750-series
CDP Studio ModbusIO supports most of the 750-xxxx analog and digital modules for the 750 Series, using the standard (non-complex) process-data image. To see which specific modules are supported, drag in a Wago-750-UDP from the ModbusIO Resource tree, click on it, and select the IO packet. The WagoIOModules resource should expand and show all the available modules that are supported.
The Wago 750-series bus couplers are typically set up with DHCP or DIP-switches. A network scanner tool, such as Angry IP Scanner, can also be used to find the IP address of the bus coupler. See the documentation for the specific Wago bus coupler for more information on configuring the IP address. To access the web-interface for the bus coupler, type in the IP address into a web-browser. Log in with default user=admin, password=wago (without the quotes), or whatever password has been set. Check the Wago documentation if this does not work. From the web interface, it should be possible to set the IP address, watchdog functionality and other options. For some functions, such as setting up some IO modules, the Wago-IO-Check tool must be used.
The Wago 750 Series accepts reads from modbus address 0, and writes to modbus address 0 (Note that the bus coupler distinguishes between read and write so that read adress 0 is separate from write address 0).
Note: Whenever a physical I/O module is changed, added or removed from the bus coupler, make sure to go into the web-interface for the bus coupler. In the Navigation pane, click on IO config and if present, click create ea-config.xml or similar. Wait some seconds, then power-cycle the bus coupler. Failing to recreate the ea-config xml for the bus couplers that use this file will result in communication not working correctly.
Note: Make sure to set the FunctionCode correctly according to which modules are used, or there will be communication problems.
It is possible to set up packets with a generic ModbusIO.IOModule to exchange non-physical data with the bus coupler. See the Wago documentation for the specific bus coupler for more information about which modbus addresses can be accessed and add packet(s) for that communication if needed.
