IntelligentEdge

CDP IntelligentEdge is a set of ready-for-use building blocks for creating a secure data communication pipeline between CDP controller systems (e.g. Edge device) and central data processing service (e.g. Cloud service). IntelligentEdge also includes a metrics system blocks for defining persistent KPIs related to equipment performance and usage.

IntelligentEgde uses these blocks in the recipes:

• LogDataAggregator - collects and aggregates value samples from CDP Logger for effective transmission to cloud
• LogDataDisaggregator - dis-aggregates value samples compacted by LogDataAggregator
• Retagger - allows rewriting of the CDP path for cloud upload, based on the dynamically configurable metadata attached to CDP nodes

The Metric system provides a standardized framework for defining reusable computation templates—such as counters, statistics, and histograms — to track and evaluate system performance over time. The system enables the creation of "MetricsDefinitions" that automatically instantiate calculators for specific CDPTags, allowing users to efficiently assess, compare, and monitor the progress and effectiveness of various operational processes.

• MetricsManager - Uses added data source and MetricDefinition blocks to collect, calculate, store and log (when DataSink is added), metric related data.
• MetricDefinition - Added to MetricsManager to hold Metric blocks and CDPTags to define metric based KPI calculations.
• Metric - Defines the metric configuration with CDPTags used for KPI calculations, including how MetricsManager identifies the appropriate KPI targets.
• MetricLoggerDataSource - Supplies routed CDPLogger historical data and tags to the MetricsManager for calculating Metrics specified in the MetricDefinition.
• MetricLoggerDataSink - Optional LoggerDataSink pre-configured with a compact datastore for logging MetricsManager metric defined KPI values.
